Be sure to visit our office to regularly maintain optimal oral health and to keep staining to a minimum.
Some people may experience minor sensitivity for 12-36 hours after whitening. Use a sensitivity toothpaste to help reduce any sensitivity you may be experiencing. You may also take OTC Motrin, Advil , or Extra-Strength Tylenol. Please refer to the instructions on the label for directions on proper dosing.
For patients that undergo In-Office Whitening, for best results and to attain and maintain the whitest shade possible, follow-up at home is very important. Use the custom take home trays and products given to you at the end of your appointment for a minimum of 1/2 hour per day for the next 3-5 days.
Depending on your lifestyle habits, whitening results and the length of time your teeth retain their new shade may vary. You may need to “touch-up” with several whitening applications every 6 months to 2 years.
Please call us if you are experiencing any sensitivity that is not subsiding or if you have any questions or concerns.
